“Keep Us Dancing: Support Beckles Dancing Company’s Year 31”
Beckles Dancing Company – Year 31 Campaign
For over 30 years, Beckles Dancing Company (BDC) has been a consistent and vital force in the Dallas arts community—creating powerful dance works, training generations of artists, and ensuring that dance remains accessible to audiences of all ages.
We invite you to join us in our mission and vision:
BDC provides a platform where performers and audiences are inspired to celebrate the techniques and creative power of movement. We are committed to presenting exciting, innovative dance to the broadest spectrum of audiences in Dallas and beyond, while training flexible bodies and minds that are adaptable across multiple forms of movement.
From our home at the South Dallas Cultural Center, BDC has produced critically acclaimed performances and created pathways for dancers to grow and thrive. Our alumni have gone on to perform on stages around the world—from The Lion King national tour to companies across Europe, including Lightwire Theater and PHILADANCO! (Philadelphia Dance Company)—demonstrating the lasting impact of our work.

Our Artists & Community Impact
Our company of 12 artists, ages 23–53, reflects our commitment to intergenerational collaboration—bringing together experience, innovation, and diverse perspectives to create bold and inspiring work.
Beyond the stage, our dancers serve as teachers, mentors, and community leaders, extending the impact of BDC far beyond performance. Through classes, outreach, and engagement initiatives, we ensure that dance remains accessible, inclusive, and transformative for our community.
At a time when arts funding continues to face delays and reductions, your support is essential. It allows us to fairly compensate our artists, sustain community programming, and continue presenting work that reflects and uplifts our community.
